Picasso on Android TV: what to check

Check whether the exact app is offered in your TV’s store. Phone support and CPU requirements alone do not establish a usable television app.

Is there a confirmed Picasso TV release?

This site has not verified a dedicated Streams Hub TV release, a publisher TV-support statement or a working remote-control test. The reviewed mirror bundle lists Android 6.0+ and four CPU architectures. Those fields describe the bundle, not TV certification.

Android’s TV documentation addresses large-screen layouts and directional-pad navigation. An interface made for touch can install on a television and still leave controls unreachable with the remote.

Using a Samsung TV? Check whether it runs Tizen before following Android APK instructions. A separate connected Android device has its own installation requirements.

Check the television and store listing

  1. Confirm the television runs Android TV or Google TV. Another TV operating system cannot install an Android APK as a native app.
  2. Use the TV’s Play Store to find the exact app and see whether it is offered to that device.
  3. If offered, confirm identity and requirements before using Install.
  4. Test focus, selection and Back using only the remote. Then check playback, pause, resume and returning to browsing.

These are checks for your device, not completed tests by this website. A phone screenshot cannot establish Fire TV support, casting or compatibility with a particular brand.

Manual files need additional checks

Check the TV’s Android version, CPU ABI, supported installer and required splits. File-transfer and installation controls vary, so follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the actual model.

The observed mirror release is APKM. A file manager that opens standalone APKs does not necessarily support that archive. Read the format guide and source and permission checks. Keep security protections enabled.

Installation is only the first stage. Landscape layout, remote focus and player behavior still need testing on the television.

Record a useful TV test

Record the TV model, firmware, Android version, CPU architecture, app package/version code and installation source. Check each navigation item and player action with the remote alone.

Note clipped text, missing focus, unreachable buttons, audio or video problems and crashes. A demonstration that needs a mouse does not establish remote support. If playback fails, compare another permitted title and another supported TV app before using the troubleshooting steps.
