Find permissions for the installed app
Open Settings, Apps, Picasso and Permissions. If the app is not listed, use the option to see all apps. Check each grant and select the access level that fits your use. Menu labels vary by Android version and manufacturer.
Record the package and version with a permission report. Different Picasso-branded apps can request different access, so a list from another package does not describe com.offshore.picasso.
Connect a request to the feature you selected
| Request | Question to ask | Possible response |
|---|---|---|
| Camera or microphone | Which feature did I start that needs this access? | Read the prompt and publisher explanation; decline an unclear request |
| Photos, videos or files | Does the action need a selected file or broad access? | Choose narrower access where your device offers it |
| Contacts, SMS or calls | How does the request relate to what I am doing? | Pause and investigate an unexplained purpose |
| Notifications | Do I want alerts from this app? | Choose your preference and revisit notification settings later |
These are examples for reviewing prompts. They do not claim that Picasso requests every item listed, and one permission alone does not establish an app’s overall behavior.
Installer access is separate from app access
The browser or file manager opening a manual APK may need permission to install from that source. Granting it authorizes that installer route. It does not grant the new app permission to read contacts, use the camera or access files.
Use your device’s prompt and the manual-installation steps. Revisit the source-app setting afterward. Keep Play Protect enabled when investigating a blocked file.
After declining or revoking access
Return to the feature you were using and observe what changes. If it stops working, investigate why it needs the permission before granting it again. Record a message that blocks unrelated features and ask the publisher to explain it.
Android’s permission manager can also show which apps share a permission. Review grants after material updates or changes in your use. This website has not tested which Picasso features work with particular access denied.
Review the source alongside permissions
Check the package, download source and update path as well as access requests. A hash identifies a file’s bytes, while a certificate can help compare signers. These checks cannot establish content rights or prove harmless behavior.
Use the safety checklist for the wider source review. If Play Protect reports a problem, investigate the specific warning before proceeding.
