Versions and updates

Before downloading an old Picasso version

An older APK can introduce an installation conflict or remove local data during a rollback. This site does not offer a verified archive of old Picasso files.

Work out why you want an older version

If Picasso stopped working after an update, record what changed: the installed version, the date, your Android version and the exact symptom. That timeline is useful evidence, but it does not establish that the update caused the problem.

Try another permitted video if only one title fails. For a blank screen or crash, follow the troubleshooting checks before replacing the application. Changing versions while a service or individual source is unavailable can leave you with the original problem and a different installation to investigate.

If a previous release worked on this device, keep that observation specific. It does not prove that a copy found today contains the same code or that the old service still accepts it.

Compare the installed app with the proposed file

The Picasso app covered here uses package com.offshore.picasso. Record the package, version name, version code and download source for both the installed app and the candidate file. A page title, icon or filename cannot establish that two releases belong to the same application.

Android uses a numeric version code to distinguish releases. The display version is a separate label. Comparing numbers from unrelated packages can produce a misleading release history, even when both pages use the word Picasso.

The source guide separates the publisher listing from mirror evidence. Review the specific artifact instead of choosing a site solely because it advertises an old version.

Why an older APK may not install over the current app

Android normally prevents an APK with a lower version code from replacing the installed version. Updates also need a compatible application ID and signing history, as explained in Android’s app-update documentation. A legitimate signing-key rotation has its own verification path.

Repeatedly opening a refused APK will not resolve an identity or signing conflict. Read the installer message and keep the current installation intact while checking the source. Do not use a security warning as an instruction to disable device protections.

Some rollback instructions tell you to uninstall first. That is a separate decision with data consequences. Before removing anything, check what you can restore through a documented app feature and whether you still have a trustworthy installation route.

Keep local data and service compatibility in mind

Uninstalling can remove the app’s local data. We have not tested which Picasso settings or saved items can be restored, and a website claim about account recovery is insufficient. Keep the details you need before acting, without sharing passwords or private files in a support report.

An older client may also depend on services that have changed. A successful installation therefore does not establish working playback or continued support. The publisher or distributor needs to document those conditions for the exact release.

For an ordinary update, return to the Picasso update guide. If you still need an older release, ask the publisher for a supported recovery route and preserve the source and package evidence for any file you consider.
